Junior Agogo dead: Former Nottingham Forest star passed away on Thursday
Former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday forward Junior Agogo has died at the age of 40.
Agogo, who most recently played for Hibernian in 2012, had a stroke in 2015, although the exact cause of death hasn't been confirmed.
The striker was a Ghanaian star after his performances in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2008.
He scored 12 goals in 27 appearances for the national side, while also scoring 20 goals for Forest between 2006 and 2008.
Agent Saif Rubie tweeted: “Just heard the news that one of my first clients ever Junior Agogo has passed away.
“Still can't believe it. One of my proudest moments in football is seeing him smash the AFCON in Ghana.”

Sheffield Wednesday told Agogo’s family and friends that they were in the club’s thoughts as they led the tributes for their former frontman.
They said: “Sheffield Wednesday are saddened to learn of the passing of our former player Junior Agogo.
“Our thoughts are with Junior’s family and friends at this very difficult time. RIP.”

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana told Agogo that he’d always be in the hearts of Ghanaians.
“May your soul rest in peace, Junior Agogo,” they tweeted.
"For the joy, the happiness and the smiles you brought to millions of Ghanaians, you will always be in our heart. Rest Well.”
Agogo had a devastating stroke in 2015, and revealed he was "in a bad way" after the incident.

Speaking after his stroke, Agogo told the BBC: “I was running with my dog. I was coming back home. I was near the Marriott Hotel and the stroke happened.
“When I woke up I was in hospital with my mum. I couldn’t speak. I was in a bad way.
“I had thoughts, but I was like where is my voice. I was baffled, man.”
Agogo had a terrific career spanning 15 years in the game, and played for 15 teams in total.
