Jurgen Klopp Responds to Transfer Rumours Surrounding Philippe Coutinho and Nathaniel Clyne

Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho and England right-back Nathaniel Clyne have been the subject of transfer speculation in recent weeks, with the former linked to Real Madrid and the latter a shock target for Barcelona.

Jurgen Klopp, however, is delighted that his players are the subject of such rumours, believing it to show how well they are performing after a start to the season which has seen them go third in the Premier League.

Klopp on Coutinho/Clyne Speculation: "How many matches have we played? Nine? ****ing hell, nine matches and we talk about all this stuff."

That's a really good sign!" said the Reds boss to theDaily Star, whose team visit Crystal Palace in Saturday's late kick-off.

Only the big clubs, yes?A few months ago it was like ˜he will go to Aston Villa and try to bring them back to the Premier League'."

"What can I say? It's better that they talk about Real Madrid and Barcelona." he grinned, showing some disdain for the persistent rumour mills, who are always searching for a story.

Despite bright starts from the duo, it is still true that only nine Premier League matches have been played. It is also true that Liverpool, along with Manchester United, often attract the majority of rumour-mongering as the two most successfulclubs in England.

How many matches have we played? Nine? ****ing hell, nine matches and we talk about all this stuff.Do they want to get them in winter or the next window?Do they think they can buy Clyney in winter?"

"Come on. It's nice but not important.

Liverpool fans will need no reminder of the significance of playing Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, after they threw away a 3-0 lead with just twelve minutes remaining in 2014 to essentially drive the final nail into their own coffin with regards to their title challenge.

This season looks to be the most promising opportunity that the Reds have since had to erase the memories of the infamous 'Gerrard slip', which began a painful end to a title chance which was in their own hands.
