JUST IN: Medeama sack goalkeeper Frank Boateng days after howler in MTN FA Cup

Ghanaian giants, Medeama SC have parted ways with goalkeeper Frank Boateng following the team’s exit from the MTN FA Cup.

The team from Tarkwa last Sunday suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak in the semi-finals of the domestic cup competition.

On the matchday, Frank Boateng was in post and committed a howler that led to the Phobians scoring their second goal.

Although not cited as a reason, Medeama SC have two days later announced that they have mutually parted ways with the former Ashanti Gold SC.

“We have mutually parted ways with goalkeeper Frank Boateng.

“The club would like to thank Frank for his services and wish him well,” an official communique from Medeama SC has said.

Last year, the Ghana Premier League club signed the goalkeeper on a three-year contract.

The termination of the contract means Frank Boateng did not even spend a year at the club.
