JUST IN: Normalization Committee rejects Palmer’s appeal

Published on: 09 October 2019

Footballghana.com can report that the Normalization Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rejected Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer’s appeal to have his disqualification from the upcoming elections overturned.

The bankroller of Tema Youth Football Club was one of seven aspirants who successfully filed nominations to contest in the presidential elections.

At the end of a mandatory grilling by a vetting committee, Palmer was subsequently disqualified for failing to pay a 10% fee from a player sale to the GFA.

He did not take the decision kindly and filed an appeal a day later with support from several documents to have the decision overturned in his favour.

After reviewing the appeal, the NC through a statement dated October 8, 2019, has cited that Osei Palmer’s appeal has been rejected.

“We regret to inform you that based on the above listed documents received, before the deadline, your appeal was unsuccessful”, a portion of the reply to the appeal noted.
