JUST IN:  Swedish side Trelleborgs FF sign Kotoko poster boy Fatawu Safiu

Published on: 13 August 2019

Ghanaian international, Abdul Fatawu Safiu has officially joined Swedish side Trelleborgs FF from Ghana Premier League giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko on a season-long loan.

The player almost joined Helsingborgs IF in the last couple of weeks but the negotiations between the two clubs broke down after the interested party failed to meet his price tag.

Following successful negotiations with Trelleborgs FF however, Safiu has been transferred to the club on a season-long loan move with an option to buy at the end of the season if he manages to impress.

The attacker enjoyed a good season with the Porcupine Warriors last season when he helped them to reach the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The former Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps player is now set to play for the European club in the 2019/2020 season.
