Justice Anin Yeboah to grace PLB Awards Friday

A Supreme Court Judge, Justice Anin Yeboah, will be the special guest of honour at the 2015/2016 GFA/PLB Awards slated for the Banquet Hall of the State House tomorrow at 6pm.

Yeboah has a rich experience in the administration of justice in football, having served on the various judicial bodies at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), CAF and FIFA. He will co-pilot this year's PLB Awards together with Mr Amarkai Amarteifio, who is the chairman for the occasion.

Mr Amarteifio is a former Minister of Youth and Sports under the PNDC regime and currently serves as the Board Chairman of promoted Premier League side, Accra Great Olympics.

A statement signed by the chairman of the Premier League Board (PLB), Ashford Tettey Oku, said the two illustrious and highly respected personalities were on board with a combined wealth of knowledge in sports and administrative justice.

Among the highlights of the event will be the presentation of a special award to the immediate past PLB chairman, Welbeck Yaw Abra-Appiah. Mr Abra-Appiah joined the PLB in 1998 as vice chairman and became the chairman two years later till he bowed out gracefully in 2015.

In all, 17 awards will be presented to some distinguished players and officials on the night.

Last year's ceremony was held at the La Palm Beach Hotel under the distinguished patronage of Mr Ernest Thompson, the Director General of SSNIT, and the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, as the chairman and special guest of honour respectively
