Genoa midfielder Tomas Rincon is on the verge of completing a move to Juventus - after the league leaders tweeted a photograph of the star in Turin ahead of his medical.

Their account, followed by 3.7m people, made the post at 8.44am UK time on Thursday morning and showed the Venezuela captain seemingly in a hospital or medical centre with the Italian media trying to get a glimpse of the player in the background.

The proposed move is understood to be on a loan basis, with an option to purchase the player at the end of the season for around €8m.

The 28-year-old has made 78 appearances for Genoa in the Italian top flight after moving from Hamburg in 2014 and has scored three goals. He began his professionalcareer at Zamora in his homeland of Venezuela, and moved to Deportivo Táchira after just one year.

His performances there prompted interest from Europe and it was Hamburg who came calling the strongest. He went on to make over 100 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

The defensive midfielder, who can also fill in at right-back,had been heavily linked to the Serie A champions in the weeks prior to the photo.

It now seems a foregone conclusion that he will become a Juventus player in the next few days. It is good news for the Old Lady, who are going strongly in the league - they are currently four points ahead of second placed AS Roma.
