Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain has called for the 'perfect performance' in Friday's Italian Super Cup final against AC Milan.

The two sides will collide in Doha, Qatar, after Juventus won the league last season and Milan finished runners up in theCoppa Italia.

Higuain, 29, was asked if he remembered when he scored twice and converted a penalty in a shoot-out for Napoli against Juventus back in 2014.

"Of course I remember, and you?,"Higuain toldGazzetta dello Sport. "I have a beautiful memory of that day, then I was playing with Napoli and I brought home the title.

"Now I wear a Juventus shirt, it will be a tough game against a great opponent and I hope it ends ends like last time."

Despite scoring 10 goals in 12 starts this season, Higuain has bizarrelycome under criticism for his lack of goalscoring.

Asked whether he has something to prove, Higuain replied:"I do not know, I play only to help the team and win. Of course, I also go on the pitch to show that I can do well.

"The opinions are yours, I respect them, but I am always quiet. Even when I do not score."

Napoli's victory over Juventus in 2014 is the only domestic trophy the Old Lady haven't won in the last two years, but Higuain admits he still feels pride from the victory as it was against a great team.

He added:"I do not know, for me the pride remains in beating a great team that time around, but now I want to win the first title with my new teammates.

"Milan are a tough team. In Milan there was the incident with [Miralem] Pjanic, if that goal had been allowed it would have changed everything.

"It will be a tight game, beautiful even. It will take perfection to win."
