Returning AC Milan legend Kaka has been impressed with start made by the Rossoneri this season and believes coach Gennaro Gattuso can lead the side to glory.

Defeating Roma with an injury time strike at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Friday in front of the Brazilian has given him confidence that the team are heading in the right direction under his former teammate.

“It is the first time I’ve seen Rino as a coach, I really liked it,” Kaka told Milan TV. “He’s got the same energy as when he was playing, always motivating the players. I have seen him talk a lot with them and supporting them. He can become a phenomenon.

“The match against Roma was beautiful, the team came out of San Siro with great confidence, it was very important to get three points and continue working.”

Expected to take up a role within the Rossonei hierarchy alongside ex-players Paolo Maldini and Leonardo, the 2007 Champions League winner admitted that he is enjoying a return to familiar surroundings.

“Walking through Milanello means remembering the good times I’ve had here,” stated Kaka. “It was nice to see Leonardo, Paolo and Rino, but also all the staff working at Milanello.”
