Black Meteors Management Committee member Frederick Acheampong has disclosed that Karela United striker Diawisie Taylor has fully recovered from COVID-19 which prevented him from playing for Ghana U-23 team against Japan in an international friendly.

Ahead of the friendly on Saturday, the Ghana Football Association announced Taylor had tested positive for COVID and was in isolation.

The initial COVID-19 result of the player conducted upon arrival at Narita Airport, Japan was inconclusive and hence he had to stay behind at the airport for further tests.

However, according to Frederick Acheampong in an interview with Happy FM in Accra, there was some inconsistency in the COVID-19 test of the player thus the health authorities in Japan asked for him to be isolated.

After further checks conducted he has been given the all-clear to rejoin his teammates who are currently in South Korea ahead of their two friendly games.

Taylor is now available for selection for the Black Meteors against South Korea.
