Karim Zito to stay on at Dreams FC as Akonnor retains AshGold job

Dreams FC has appointed coach Karim Zito as the "acting head coach" to lead the club into the 2018 Ghana Premier League season. His efforts shall be complimented by former Hearts of oak goalkeeper's trainer Edward Ansah and Winfred Dormond as assistant coaches for the season.

This comes after then head coach CK Akonnor asked to be released so as to sign permanent deal with the Miners after stepping in mid way last season to save the club above the drop zone, aiding them to maintain their premiership status.

Speaking to FOX 97.9 FM, head of communications for Dreams FC Henry Asante Twum confirmed the new roles. "Karim Zito is now the acting head coach, and he will be assisted by Edward Ansah, who is not just a goalkeeper's trainer but a qualified coach, as well as energetic and hard working Winfred Dormond", Henry stated.

Regarding the status of coach CK Akonnor, Henry says " CK Akonnor is not a child to be told what to do, he has his own ambitions and he has stated his intentions to return to Ashgold, so we would release him and speak (negotiate) with Ashgold so he can join them permanently ".
