Ghanaian international, Kelvin Owusu Boateng made his first senior appearance for CD Aves on Monday night when the side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Moreirense in the Portuguese Liga NOS.
Since last season, the youngster has been steadily developing at the youth team of the Portuguese team and has finally gained promotion to the senior team.
Yesterday his dream of playing for the senior team came to pass when he was handed his debut in CD Aves’ crucial encounter against Moreirense.
Though he came in as a substitute on the 85th minute to replace Pedro Soares, he had a very good game with some key contributions to the team.
Unfortunately, it did not change the scoreline of the match at the end of the game with the away team holding on to the strike from Fabio Abreu to bag all 3 points.
Kelvin Owusu Boateng finished the game with his head help up high and should surely get more opportunities in the remaining matches of the season in Portugal.
At age 20, the talent is there and he is being tipped to be handed a bigger role at the club next season.
