King Faisal Chief Alhaji Grusah wants Kotoko to return to football action

Bankroller of Kumasi King Faisal Alhaji Karim Grusah has asked city rivals Asante Kotoko to make a quick return to football action to avoid a break in the Ghana Premier League.

The Premier League is likely to go on a month break following Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s recovery from the fatal accident suffered a fortnight ago.

The team that was returning from a premier league game against Inter Allies suffered a horrific accident that led to the death of their equipment officer Mr. Obeng Asare.

However, Alhaji Grusah insist the porcupine have a large squad that should be capable of returning to action despite some players still out injured.

“Even Zambia that had a place crush some years back, they came back and played the following year,” he said in an interview.

“But for the Ghana Premier League to go on break, No! Kotoko registered how many players? A lot. But an accident is an accident. I pray for their speedy recovery, that is my prayers,” he added.

“Yes, I think they can get a squad to play.”

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have two outstanding matches in the Ghana Premier League against arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak and West Africa Football Academy.

It is unlikely the porcupine Warriors will feature in the MTN FA Cup this weekend and there are reports the team will fully recover mid-August.
