Published on: 16 January 2020

After making his first Rossoneri appearance in our Coppa Italia win over SPAL, Simon Kjær had his official presentation today as the Danish defender shared his first impressions from the opening days at Milanello.

“AC Milan has always been a dream for me, when the chance came around I jumped at it. I’m happy to be here, it’s a pleasure. AC Milan is a great Club and when you walk around Milanello you feel the history here.”

THE CALL FROM MALDINI
“When one of your idols like Maldini calls you to come to Milan, it’s always something special. Paolo’s career deserves the utmost respect, he was really nice to me. I’m here to stay, that’s my aim.”

MILAN’S GOAL
“We need to work and improve every day to get as many points as possible. The quality is there, but it’s too early to be thinking about the end of the season. Now we just need to give it our all and finish as high in the table as possible.”

PLAYING WITH IBRA
“I’ve come across him on plenty of occasions throughout my career, we’ve had a few battles on the pitch but there’s no problem between us now, we’re working towards the same goal. His presence here is an extra push for everyone, he’s a great champion and his career speaks for itself. It’s a pleasure for everyone to have him in the team.”

EXPERIENCE
“That’s also why I’m here, to lend a hand in terms of experience. I have to take responsibility every day, I’ve played over 500 games in my career, I can help out the younger guys.”

SAN SIRO
“I’ve played in this stadium on plenty of occasions, it’s one of the most beautiful in Europe and in the world; it’s enormous, special, and there’s an incredible atmosphere when you walk out onto the pitch.”
