English-born Ghanaian midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been named in in WhoScored’s Premier League U21 Team of the Season.
The 18-year-old had fascinating breakthrough season with Man United where he has become a mainstay in the team, marked by some scintillating performances.
He has played 32 games across all competitions this season and has scored four goals.
Mainoo is one of the bright spots in an otherwise dark season for Man United that has seen them finish eighth, their lowest in history.
Mainoo has also been named in the England squad for the Euros.
In March 2024, Mainoo earned his inaugural senior squad call-up for England's friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, transitioning from previous appearances with the under-21s.
Making his debut at 18 years old on March 23, 2024, he featured as a 75th-minute substitute in a 1–0 loss to Brazil at Wembley Stadium.
Subsequently, Mainoo secured his first England start against Belgium, garnering praise for his performance.
