Koscielny to ease Arsenal worries with Watford return

Published on: 12 October 2017

Laurent Koscielny is set to return to action for Arsenal this weekend during their match against Watford despite only having limited first team training.

The French international missed his countries last two matches and has not played since the Gunners 2-0 win against West Brom more than two weeks ago due to an Achilles tendon injury.

Koscielny has had the problem for many seasons and though he has not yet resumed full training, he is set to return to action with the squad ahead of Saturday's game.

Meanwhile Mesut Ozil and Danny Welback have resumed full training with the Gunners and are expected to provide competition to the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Alex Iwobi and Alexis Sanchez all of whom have been in fine form recently contributing goals and assists.

As Sanchez played on Tuesday for the Chile national team, manager Arsene Wenger may opt to start him on the bench to avoid match fatigue.
