Kotoko and Hearts crushed out of GFA StarTimes GALA competition

Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have been crashed out of the ongoing GFA-StarTimes Gala competition after losing their opening matches.

The Porcupine Warriors lost their opening match against Elmina Sharks by 1-0 courtesy Benjamin Tweneboah who ensured Sharks progression to the quarter-finals.

Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak were held to goalless draw game by the Division One side City rivals, Olympics but the ‘Wonder Club’ qualified for the next round of the competition having defeated Hearts 6-5 on penalties.

Elsewhere, former Premier League winners, Wa All Stars defeated Vision FC 1-0 to progress to the next round whilst Medeama SC defeated Division One side, Berekum Chelsea 3-0 to also progress to the next round of the competition.

Inter Allies and Techiman Eleven Wonders all progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition edging Ebusua Dwarfs and New Ebubiase respectively on penalties.

The competition is expected to continue to tomorrow as qualified teams will battle it in the quarter-finals for a place in the semi-finals.
