Record Ghana Premier League champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko have named former captain Godwin Ablordey as the interim head coach of the Kumasi-based club following the sacking of Croat Zdravko Logarusic.

Logarusic was booted out hours after yet another uninspiring goalless draw with Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday.

His fate was decided after an emergency Management meeting on Sunday at the club secretariat in Kumasi.

The meeting which was held primarily to discuss the coach’s future also decided that Ablordey, Logarusic's assistant will take charge of the team until a substantive coach is found.

“Zdravko’s contract has been terminated. He has accepted the official notification given to him. Assistant coach, Godwin Ablordey will train with the team until further notice” Head of Communications, Obed Acheampong said
