Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko has defeated Bekwai Youth Football Academy 4-0 in a friendly match today as they continue preparations for the final playoff round in the CAF Confederations Cup.

After dropping out of the CAF Champions League, the Porcupine Warriors are turning attention to the Confederation Cup. First though, they will need to cross the hurdle of the final playoff where they have been paired against Ivorian side FC San Pedro.

In a bid to ensure the team adequately prepares, they engaged Bekwai Youth Football Academy in a friendly match earlier this morning.

At the end of a very good exercise, Kotoko emerged as 4-0 winners courtesy a hat-trick from Burkina Faso attacker Sogne Yacouba as well as a strike from summer signing George Abege.

They take confidence from the match and will continue preparations next week in a bid to sharpen any rough edge before welcoming FC San Pedro to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at the end of October for the first leg of the final playoff to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

A win on aggregate at the end of the two-legged tie will keep the team’s hopes of enjoying continental glory alive.
