Asante Kotoko Board Member Kwasi Osei Ofori has backed Felix Annan’s call for a salary structure which will help curb the rampant player exodus in the league.

In a latest report released by CEIS, Ghana is the second exporter of footballers in Africa which supports the fact that local players move out for greener pastures due to low wages.

The goalkeeper proposed a $1000 monthly minimum wage for players plying their trade in Ghana’s top flight division.

Speaking in an interview with Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, the board member supported the suggestion from the club’s captain.

“I agree with Felix on $1000 salary suggestion, we need to pay our players well and motivate them. So we will meet with them on this but they shouldn't also take advantage to hold the club to ransom because playing for Kotoko is an honour”

“We shouldn't also forget that most players are breadwinners of their families, they should be getting what's due them and it goes beyond the salary” he told Oyerepa FM
