Interim Coach of Kumasi Asnte Kotoko Frimpong Manso says he is happy with his player’s performance despite their 3-1 defeat to Accra Hearts of Oak in the Ghana @60 cup match.

Striker Kwame Kizito opened the scoring for the Phobians before defender Awal Mohammed pulled parity for Kotoko. However, the never say die boys were too strong for the porcupine warriors as Thomas Abbey and Patrick Razak added the second and third goals for Hearts.

This defeat means Kotoko have not won any game in open play in their last 8 games and Frimpong Manso who lead the team in Accra insists they were undone by some defensive mistakes but it was a better performance by his side.

“The build up from defensive to attack was good. I think it was one or two mistake from the back that caused us including the goalkeeping error. Sometimes these mistakes happen but I am happy with our performance,” Frimpong Manso said after the game.

Kotoko are expected to stay in Accra for the rest of the week as the return to the Premier League to play Great Olympics.
