Mercurial Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Samudeen Ibrahim says he is ready to fight for his place in the team after recovering from his injury woes.

Samudeen has not featured for the Phobians since the opening day of the season when he went off injured in the game against New Edubiase United in Accra.

However, the player is back to full fitness now and, says he is ready to fight for his place in the starting line-up when the second round of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) begins.

The Hearts of Oak team is currently on a one-week break and, will return to training next Monday at the Legon Ajax Park in Accra to continue with their preparations for the resumption of the league.

“I am happy to be back to full fitness after the unfortunate scene in the first game of the season, and, will do everything within my means to get into the first team again,” he told the club’s official newspaper, the Hearts News.

“It was not a pleasant news to me when I missed all those games in the first round, but, thankfully, I am back to training, and will fight for my place in the team during the second round”.

Every player wants to be part of a success story, and, with Hearts highly placed on the table at the end of the first round, the player feels it’s time to move on with the times.

“The second round of the league promises to be tough, and, that would also require that every player be up to the task so as not to be left out,” he stated.

“I expect to see a lot of fireworks at the training grounds, and, that is the spectacle on which we will be measured in the selection of players for games, and, I am ready for it,” Samudeen assured.

Accra Hearts of Oak finished the first round of the campaign with 26 points from 15 games, and, sits in fourth position, two points behind the leaders Wa All Stars.

The second round of the GPL is expected to begin on the weekend of 25/26 June, with Hearts’ first game against Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.
