Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams close to joining Swiss side Aarau FC - Report

Kumasi Asante Kotoko defender Ahmed Adams is close to joining Swiss second tier side Aarau FC, according to reports. 

The stalwart defender will be signing a deal to join the Swiss side in the coming days after agreeing to join the club, following the inability to extend his contract with Asante Kotoko.

According to information gathered by footballgahana.com, the 24 year old has been reluctant to extend his contract with the Porcupine Warriors.

Ahmed Adams was one of Kotoko's best player last season after playing 23 times and scoring two goals.

“Negotiations between Ahmed Adams and FC Aarau have reached advanced staged and I can confirm to you that an officially would be made soon as soon as re arrives in Switzerland latest next January 15,” a close source to the player told Sportsworldghana.

The defender was a member of the triumphant Black Stars B team that won the WAFU Cup of nations fter beating Nigeria in the finals.

Kumais Asante Kotoko have moved quick to find a replacement for their most trusted defender by bringing in Emmanuel Owusu from Nea Salamina and Wahab Adams from Premier League Champions Aduana Stars.

Kotoko finished fifth last season but won the FA Cup, hence will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederations Cup next season.
