Kotoko defender Awudu Nafiu calls for fans support in their slump period

Asante Kotoko defender Awudu Nafiu has asked fans of the club to give their full backing to the team in their difficult period.

The Ghanaian giants have struggled to win games in the Ghana Premier league and were thrashed on Monday by arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak 3-1 in the Ghana @60 Match celebrations.

Nafiu who joined from Ashantigold at the start of the season has been on fine form and he is calling on the fans to throw their weight behind them as they seek revival in the coming weeks.

“We need the fans too. We can’t turn things around when the fans abandon us. The fans are our backbone,” he told the clubs official website.

“We depend on their prayers and support to win. Things will be very difficult without them,” he added.

Kotoko will next face Accra Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League match day 14.
