Asante Kotoko's insurance provider, Hollard paid for the surgery of goalkeeper Osei Kwame at the Komfo Anokye Teachings Hospital.
The insurance company paid approximately Gh₵18,000 for the surgery, according to reports in the local media.
Osei suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear while playing for the Porcupine Warriors. He had to go under the knife again due to poor rehabilitation management after the first surgery.
He was discharged from KATH on Saturday and would continue his rehabilitation which will be guided by Dr Konadu Yeboah, Head of the Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at KATH, and Kotoko’s Medical staff.
"I also thank the club’s insurance provider, Hollard Insurance Company Limited for paying for the cost of the surgery. I am very grateful to the club, my teammates, and the supporters for their prayers and support," he said.
