Kotoko intensify training ahead of GHALCA 8

Having strong legs on a strong body of great stamina was the focus of training as Kotoko's playing body were put through nearly two hours of gut-busting physical drills on Wednesday morning.

Staircase climbing, hurdles and jogging drills made up the bulk of the session which was split into four slots of various time allocations.

The session was held at the Baba Yara Stadium and the players jogged around the pitch for 15 minutes immediately after the opening prayers.

They then proceeded to do the hurdles for another 15 minutes after which they were led to the Popular Stand (Asokwa End) of the stadum to climb and descend the staircase using various speed intensities.

However, Physical Instructor, Isaac Ayeba, didn't stop there as he added an extra 15 minutes body workout to end the morning's activity.

"We need them to keep strong legs", Ayeba told asantekotokosc.com. "We also want to improve their stamina. Body strength and endurance are very key in this sports and hence are efforts to ensuring that we hit the right levels."

Emmanuel Gyamfi, though present, sat out of training due to ill health.

Saddick Adams was also absent. The striker has been permitted days off to recover from the concussion he suffered in the "Ghana: 60-Years On" game against Hearts last week.
