Kotoko to meet on the future of Oduro and Amoako- Ali Maradona

Published on: 28 September 2016

Operations Manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Ali Maradona has disclosed that the club is yet to meet Stephen Oduro and Isaac Amoako on their future.

Stephen Oduro has been a cult hero ever since he joined from Real Tamale United in the 2000 Ghana Premier League season while goalkeeper Isaac Amoako has also chucked up nine year with the Porcupine Warriors since he signed from BA United.

However, as the club’s management meet on Saturday to do a post-mortem of the team’s performance in the season gone by and discuss the way forward for the club, one of the main topics for discussion will be how best possible they can sort the future of their two longest serving players.

Speaking on Nhyira FM, Ali said; “The board will meet on Saturday to see what we did right and wrong last season. And another discussion in the meeting will be on Stephen Oduro and Isaac Amoako, whose contracts will be ending soon and we’ll take a decision on whether we should extend it or let them go.”

“It’s a delicate situation for us and the players because they’ve served the club well and we need to take a decision that will benefit all parties involved.”

Asante Kotoko finished the 2016 Ghana Premier League season in fifth position with 46 points from 30 matches.
