Kotoko new signing Mudasiru Salifu lauds club and coach

Asante Kotoko new signing Mudasiru Salifu has expressed his excitement following his move to the Porcupine Warriors and has also praised coach Kjetil Zachariassen for his marvellous training tactics as the Reds gear up of the Caf Champions League.

Salifu joined the Kumasi-based side on a two-year deal after passing his mandatory and completing the formalities.

He is already winning the hearts of Kotoko fans after training with his teammates, scoring sublime goals and giving glimpses of a brighter future.

“I played a little for Berekum Chelsea and moved to Tunisia (CS Sfaxien) and then, moved to AS Tanda in Ivory Coast after my contract with AS Tanda then I had to come home and fight for my nation”, Mudasiru told Fox FM in an exclusive interview on Rush Hour Sports.

Answering questions on what inspired him to join Kotoko, Mudasiru revealed he has been a fan of Kotoko during his days with Berekum Chelsea, he sees the club as a big one which is available to everyone.

“Asante Kotoko is for all of us so if I’m back and want to play for Asante Kotoko then I have to kill myself and play for Asante Kotoko. I was a supporter of Asante Kotoko when I was here (in Ghana playing for Berekum Chelsea), Asante Kotoko is also a big club for me so since I’m back and the coach has also invited me I can’t hesitate, I have to come and fight a good fight for Asante Kotoko”, he explained.

Impressed with the coach’s tactics at training, the midfield sensation was quick to heap praises on coach Zachariassen as he expressed his surprise at the Norwegian’s method of getting the best out of players at his disposal.

“Having worked with the players for a while I can see the coach is doing very well, I’m even surprised, so the supporters should back us with prayers, I believe we will fight and go far (in the Champions League)”, he concluded.

Salifu, who is the 12th twelfth signing of the Porcupine Warriors has previously played for Tunisian club CS Sfaxien and Tanda FC of Ivory Coast.
