Kotoko Operations Manager: We will not resort to "juju" to change things

Asante Kotoko Operations Manager Ernest Owusu Ansah says they will not seek any spiritual assistance to turn their current poor form around.

The Porcupine Warriors have gone seven games without a win- a situation which have seen them drop to fifth on the league table.

“We don’t believe in the use of juju to win matches. It is not part of our administrative practices.” Owusu Ansah said in an interview.

“Juju” is the use of supernatural powers to influence the outcome of football matches. It has been a common practice in football across the continent.

He said, “Dr. Kwame Acheampong Kyei, the Chief Executive of Kotoko, does not believe in the works of Juju, therefore there is no room for it as far as he is there”.

Owusu Ansah, debunked suggestions that, his portfolio has to do with engaging in juju to help the club win matches, saying the job description of an Operation Manager, has got nothing to do with spiritualities, but rather running the day-to-day activities of the club.

“Operations management has got nothing to do with ‘juju’ or spiritualities and people should be aware that Dr. Kyei has emphatically said that nobody should come and talk to him about Juju.

“The operations manager is in charge of the day to day activities of the club, I see to it that all the players are paid in due time and as at now every player at Kumasi Asante Kotoko has been paid fully.”

“I am in charge of match ticketing and hotel bookings, that is my job description and it has got nothing to do with spiritualities.

“Kotoko’s supporters must understand the work I do for the club, I don’t think it’s fair to say that I am the cause of Kotoko’s defeat.

“I was appointed as the team manager for Kotoko during Dr. K.K Sarpong’s era and we won the league back to back and the Super Cup, so I have an experience in the work I’m doing here.
