Asante Kotoko is set to parade an almost different squad in the 2020/2021 football season after getting rid of as many as 15 players from the last season.
During the 2019/2020 football season, the Ghanaian giants enjoyed a decent campaign but could not progress in any of CAF’s inter-club competitions despite featuring in both the Champions League and Confederations Cup.
In the last couple of months, Asante Kotoko has parted with a number of players by terminating their contracts including Richard Arthur, Collins Ameyaw, Patrick Yeboah, Stephen Ayiku Tetteh, and Empem Dacosta.
The number subsequently went up after the club ended its chase of Matthew Anim-Cudjoe and Justice Blay. The duo was part of the Asante Kotoko team for last season but won’t be part of the squad for next season.
In the latest information gathered by footballghana.com, 7 other players including Martin Antwi, Evans Owusu, Sam Adams, Kelvin Andoh, Kingsley Osei Effah, Douglas Owusu Ansah, and Abass Mohammed have been told they will not have a place in coach Maxwell Konadu’s team for next season.
Surprisingly, reports coming in from Kumasi is also indicating that defender Agyemang Badu is on his way out Asante Kotoko.
