Asante Kotoko is set to part ways with defender Empem Dacosta after being identified as surplus to requirement by head coach Maxwell Konadu.
The defender joined the Porcupine Warriors club in 2019 to from Karela United to give the side a squad boost for the football season.
Unfortunately, he could not cement a place in the team of coach Maxwell Konadu during the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
In the 14 matches the team played before the campaign was suspended as a result of the Coronavirus crisis, Empem Dacosta only managed to feature in 3 games.
According to his representative Blessing Kwaku, he has been informed by Coach Konadu that the services of his client are no longer needed at the club.
"The coach has disclosed to us that he doesn't need Empem Dacosta at Kotoko. We have accepted his decision”, he said in an interview with Wontumi FM.
With Dacosta still contracted to Kotoko for the next 2 years, Blessing Kwaku insists that they will have to be paid compensation before they part ways with the club.
"We are only waiting for the club to pay us and terminate the contract officially. We are asking for all entitlements to paid to us", he noted.
