Kotoko players should work hard on the pitch - Opoku Nti

Former Asante Kotoko CEO and player Opoku Nti has urged the players to work hard on the pitch so that the fans will rush to the stadium to watch them.

The defending champions have had an inconsistent season, lacking goals and suffering from injuries. In a recent clash with bitter rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, they were beaten 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors will face FC Samartex in their next Ghana Premier League.

“Players too their performance is very low because today you will see that a Kotoko supporters will say who am I going to watch. There must be at least one player in there who is making the difference that also attracts the supporters to come," Nti said on Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"But all the same if your child is not good it is still your child the supporters too what I will say is that Kotoko is your club you don’t wait till it gets better before you support it. When things are not going well that is when the team needs your help. So one way or the other we all should think about all these things and lets work best so that our game will be attractive and let supporters come,”
