Kumasi Asante Kotoko thrashed fellow Premier League side Inter Allies 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday as part of preparations ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors took a deserving lead in the 44th minute as skipper of the side, Amos Frimpong stepped up to convert from the spot to break the deadlock.

After the recess, Ghana's sole representative in Africa increased their tempo as a low cross found Guinean striker Naby Keita few minutes he came on to increase the tally for the Reds.

Inter Allies kept pushing for a consolation but the resilient Asante Kotoko defence was equally up to the task.

New signing Martin Antwi scored his second goal for the club when he slid to connect home in the 92nd minute to give Kotoko a major boost ahead of Africa.

Coach C.K Akunnor and his charges are currently preparing for CAF second-tier competition and used the friendly to test their match readiness.

Kotoko will face a stern opposition from Kenyan outfit Kariobangi Sharks in the first round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
