Kotoko to hold final training today before departing for Cote d’Ivoire ahead of FC San Pedro second leg

Ghana Premier League giants, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will hold its final training session this afternoon before departing for Cote d’Ivoire tomorrow ahead of their second leg clash in the final playoff round to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors are seeking qualification to the group stage of the continent’s second-tier inter-club competition after failing to excel in the CAF Champions League.

Paired against FC San Pedro in the final playoff round, the Ghanaian side are holding a 1-0 win advantage as they go into the return leg of the fixture against the Ivorians.

Following days of training, they will move to Cote d’Ivoire tomorrow ahead of time to have the opportunity to train for at least two days before going into the big game.

Giving an update on the team’s preparations so far, Nana Kwame Amponsah who is Kotoko’s Greater Accra Deputy Representatives has shared that everything is in place for the team to take a flight to Abidjan on Friday.

“Preparations are far advanced and everything is in place. If nothing happens between today to tomorrow then we will move to Accra and take a flight from the Kotoka International airport to Abidjan”, he said in an interview with Asempa FM.

Kotoko will need a good results at the end of the match which will be played on Sunday, November 3, 2019, to ensure they keep their continental aspirations alive.
