Kotoko will not impose pay cut on players - Nana Kwame Dankwah

The Greater Accra representative for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Kwame Dankwah has indicated that the club will not impose pay cuts on players even though the idea is on the table during these trying times. 

Ghana is one of the many countries in the world that has been hit by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Not only is the economy of the country hit, but the finances of football clubs have also been greatly affected due to the suspension of football activities in the country.

In the midst of it all, it has been proposed that clubs should consider cutting the pay of players and even its staff to help them survive this period.

In an interview with Joy FM, Nana Kwame Dankwah has opened up on talks between management and the playing body in relation to the issue of pay cuts.

“There is this issue of pay cuts. Management has spoken with the Head Coach. He is to discuss it with the playing body and revert to us. At the moment, that is what we are confronted with. We are not imposing it on the players. We need to discuss it with them so that there will be [amicable] agreement. We are waiting to hear from them”, the deputy Accra rep the Reds said.
