Kotoko recall defensive pair from Black Stars camp?
Amos FRimpong

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have reportedly withdrawn pair, Amos Frimpong and Ahmed Adams from the Local Black Stars camp as a result of shortage of defenders in their squad.

The duo have been in camp preparing for an international friendly against the Japanese U-23 team but their club has reportedly petitioned the GFA for their services ahead of a league meeting with Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors have only Evans Quao and Ohene Brenya as fit defenders in camp with have Richard Osei Agyemang injured and Edwin Tuffour suspended.

Their petition means Frimpong and Adams will not make the squad to face Japan’s U23 side on 11 May at Best Amenity Stadium in the city of Saga.

Japan will use the match to prepare for the 2016 Olympics football tournament in August and also raise funds for the the victims of the Kumamoto earthquakes.

The Local Black Stars broke camp today (Thursday) ahead of their impending departure to Japan.
