The canker has been on the rise since the start of the 2019/2020 season with Italian clubs witnessing a lot of incidences of that sort.

Whiles many believe that institutions are tackling racism head-on, there are others who also say that is not the case as they call for strict sanctions for offenders.

Fiorentina star man KP Boateng is one of those people and is currently advocating for points to be deducted off clubs whose supporters racially abuse players of opponents.

In a recent interview, the ex-Black Stars forward shared, “I'm sick of it. People do not understand how Balotelli, Boateng or Koulibaly feel when they get home”.

The 32-year-old added, “These are scars that you cannot get rid of. It was not enough parts to exclude the fans, "we have to lock them in. The clubs have to pay for the behavior of their fans".

“If necessary, they should be punished with a point deduction”.

Meanwhile, KP Boateng is also planning to come out with a taskforce that will focus on kicking out the canker.
