Former Kotoko Express Editor, Jerome Otchere says Jerome Otchere is likely to lose his seat as the president of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] if football in the country continues to see no progress.

Mr Okraku has come under intense pressure following Black Stars' recent poor performances at major tournaments.

The four times African champions at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar failed to perform.

The Black Stars exited the tournament at the group phase with three points after finishing at the bottom of Group H.

The ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League is witnessing the worse attendance in the history of the game.

Speaking in an interview, Otchere says the administration has failed to develop the game.

According to him, it is likely he will lose his presidency if football does not see any progress in the country.

"We went to Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Cameroon and we failed," he said on Asempa FM.

"The same thing happened in Qatar. We exited the tournament at the group phase with three points under the same Kur Okraku administration. We have terrible pitches and for me, nothing is improving in our game and if nothing changes, it is likely a change of leadership will happen at the elections," he added.

The Black Stars at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon failed to win a game and exited the tournament with just a point.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association elections will be held on October 2023.
