The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt E.S Okraku has applauded George Afriyie for agreeing to serve on the 5-member advisory committee for the implementation of the transitional provision on the number of participating clubs in the National Division One League (DOL).

It can be recalled that the country’s football governing body on May 14 announced that its Executive Council had given approval for processes to reduce the participating clubs in the lower tier from 48 to 18 clubs.

In line with that, a 5-member committee was to be formed comprising of 3 members from the 48 clubs in the DOL and 2 members nominated by the Ghana FA.

For the members from the Division One League, they will be led by owner and bankroller for Okyeman Planners, George Afriyie.

In a Twitter post, Kurt Okraku has commended the former GFA vice-president for accepting to be part of the committee while stressed on the need for unity.

“Together We Build Flag of Ghana. Thank you for accepting the responsibility to serve on the 5 man DOL advisory committee that has been set up to look at DOL football and all related issues”, the GFA boss posted.
