Kwame Bonsu misses out on Super Cup medal as Esperance lose to Zamalek

Ghanaian international Kwame Bonsu missed out on picking up a CAF Super Cup winners medal on Friday night when his Esperance side lost 3-1 to Zamalek.

The winners of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederations cup were I action at the Al Gharafa Stadium in Doha, Qatar to battle for this year’s edition of the CAF Super Cup.

On the matchday, former Asante Kotoko midfielder Kwame Bonsu was in action for Tunisia giants Esperance de Tunis but unfortunately ended up on the losing side with Egyptian powerhouse Zamalek cruising to a 3-1 win.

A brace from Achraf Bencharki on top of an earlier strike from Youssef Obama did the trick for the winners as Abdelraouf Benguit converted a penalty kick to earn the consolation for the losers.

In line with the result, Kwame Bonsu missed out on getting the CAF Super Cup winners medal.

His Esperance side has a date with Zamalek a fortnight to come in the CAF Champions League quarter-final and will be eyeing revenge when they lock horns.
