Maritzburg United has been drawn to play against Kaizer Chiefs in the Round of 32 stage of the 2022-2023 NedBank Cup competition.

Recently signed Ghanaian striker, Kwame Peprah, who joined Maritzburg after limited playing time at his previous team, Orlando Pirates, is expected to play a role in the contest.

Peprah joined the Team of Choice as they are currently at the bottom of the DSTV Premiership standings with just three wins in 15 league games and scoring just eight times in 15 outings.

The schedule for the match, including the date, and time has not been announced yet.

Other Ghanaian players playing in South Africa have also been paired in the draw, such as Edwin Gyimah's Sekhukune United facing Liver Brothers FC, and Richard Ofori's Orlando Pirates playing against All Stars FC.

The status of Ofori's participation is uncertain as he is still recovering from a knee injury that prevented him from competing in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
