According to reports in the local media, Kwesi Appiah is likely to resign from the Ghana Football Association's Executive Council.

The reports mentioned his recent appointment as the Sudan national team's head coach as the reason. If he resigns Ghana Football Association will hold a special election to replace him.

The Asante Kotoko Interim Management Committee (IMC) chairman had 10 votes during the just-ended 2023 GFA Elective Congress.

Appiah represented the Premier League clubs on the Executive Council.

The former Ghana international remains the only ingenious coach who qualified the Black Stars for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
