Kwesi Appiah to earn substantially less than predecessor Avram Grant

Footballghana.com understands that newly appointed Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah would earn almost 50% of what his predecessor Avram Grant was taking home.

Appiah went up for the job with frenchman Willy Sagnol and Belgian Hugo Broos but secured a return to the post on a two-year contarct which starts on May 1.

According to sources within the Ghana Football Association, Appiah will earn between $25,000 and $30,000 per month during his latest stint. His predecessor Israeli veteran Grant was said to be on a $50,000 a month package.

Appiah during his job interview reportedly told the panel that he would contribute $5,000 out of his monthly purse towards the development of local coaches.

Appiah will be handed a two-year contract and will start his duties on 1st May, 2017. He will also take full charge of the Local Black Stars.
