Head Coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, James Kwesi Appiah will field his starting line-up for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament when his side engages South Africa in a friendly match this weekend.

The team is currently holding a pre-tournament training camp in Dubai as they prepare for the expanded 24 nations tournament set to be played in Egypt this year.

Just last weekend, Ghana lost to Namibia 1-0 in a test match where Coach Kwesi Appiah fielded a starting 11 not familiar to each other despite training for a one week period.

The team is expected to play their final friendly match this weekend against the Banyana Banyana and they will love to win to give them a boost ahead of the continental showdown.

Reports indicate that Coach Appiah will play a strong side against South Africa to test the strength of the starting line-up he is planning to deploy when the tournament starts.

Ghana has been pitted in Group F alongside Benin, Guinea Bissau and defending Champions Cameroon. They will open their group against Benin on Tuesday, June 26, 2019.
