Lalas Abubakar: Colorado Rapids defender vows to continue working hard to earn Black Stars invite

Colorado Rapids defender, Lalas Abubakar has vowed to continue working hard in order to earn a Black Stars invitation very soon.

Though the Ghanaian international has represented his country at the U-20 level in the past, he is yet to play for the national team.

Speaking to Accra FM in an interview, Lalas Abubakar has emphasized that he has matured for the Black Stars.

While indicating that he is not discouraged by the delayed invitation, the center-back insists that his hard work will pay in the future.

“Am never discouraged. The national team is all about chances. When it's your time you will be called.

“After playing for the U-20 team too am sure if I work hard I will surely get the national team call-up will come. I know God's time is the best”, the defender said.

Lalas Abubakar added, “So for now am focused and am working hard. I know once I continue working hard at the club level I will surely be called.

"I am very ready. Since 2018 I have been hoping to get the call-up because at the club level am doing very well. I am ready to play for the national team and when am called I will come and help my country”.

At Colorado Rapids, the Ghanaian international is excelling and is regarded as one of the top defenders in the Major League Soccer (MLS).
