Larry Ibrahim Sumaila set to leave Hearts of Oak - Reports

Published on: 16 April 2022

Hearts of Oak, the defending GPL winners, are projected to lose defender Larry Ibrahim Sumaila according to reports in the local media.

After struggling to receive enough playing time this season, the defender hopes to depart the club this summer.

Sumaila had played for Greek giants PAOK before joining the Phobians in 2019. In January 2019, Sumaila was signed by Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak on a free transfer, after training with the club for weeks.

He signed a two-year deal with an option to extend it by another year based on his performance. He made his debut during the 2019 GFA Normalization Committee Special Competition on 25 May 2019, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in a 1-0 loss to Dreams FC.

Sumaila's current contract expires on May 31, 2022, and he is expected to sign with a new club.
