Spanish La Liga side UD Las Palmas confirmed the capture of Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng on Monday evening.

A statement issued by the club disclosed that the player will arrive today in Spain and will be presented to the public at the Estadio de Gran Canaria, with free admission for fans.

Boateng, 29, joins on a one-year contract with an option to extend a second season.

The statement further described the suspended Black Stars player as "the most important foreign player who has joined the club in recent decades".

The 29-year-old is expected to touch down in a private jet for his medical in Las Palmas at 16:00 GMT.

The statement said, "Las Palmas has reached an agreement on the evening of today with representatives of the player Boateng. Las Palmas had been working on incorporating this player since early July.

"The close relationship Las Palmas and the players' agents has been vital in the player opting for us among other proposals. He is certainly the most important foreign player who has joined the club in recent decades".

The injury-prone player was also courted by Malaga and Turkish giants, Fernabache.
