Sunday's Serie A clash between Lazio and AC Milan has been postponed due to storms that hit Italy over the weekend.

The pitch at the Stadio Olimpico was protected with plastic sheeting with the torrential rain forecast, but local authorities decided they would not be able to guarantee public safety at the game.

With electrical blackouts and the Metro service being suspended, Rome has experienced severe problems all weekend.

Saturday's game between Sampdoria and Roma was called off 24 hours beforehand due to the predicted storms.

No new date has been announced for either match.
