Lecce drops interest in Afriyie Acquah to sign Antonin Barak

Footballghana.com can report that Afriyie Acquah will no longer move from Yeni Malatyaspor to Lecce after the Italian Serie A side opted to sign Antonin Barak.

The Italian top-flight club had been in the market for a defensive midfielder and identified Acquah as the player with the qualities to help them in their quest to stay in the division.

They reportedly opened negotiations with the former Torino man and was expected to secure his services before the January transfer window closed.

The deal has however fallen into the mud today with Lecce announcing that they have signed Antonin Barak.

Afriyie Acquah will now stay put at Yeni Malatyaspor for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season. He is enjoying a stellar campaign in the Turkish Super Lig.
