Legendary Osei Kofi implores Asante Kotoko to boycott Caf Champions League campaign

Rev Osei Kofi has called on his former side to boycott the Caf Champions League campaign next season.

The Ghana Premier League giants have been given the nod by the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association to represent the country in the Caf interclub following the cancellation of the 2019/20 football season due to coronavirus.

Kotoko have accepted to compete in the competition but according to Osei Kofi, the new board are not ready to compete in Africa adding it will be a disaster should they compete in the tournament.

"The board are not enough prepared and ready to compete so they should resign from joining the CAF competitions and be concentrate for next time," he told Boss FM.

"If the Reds the joins the next season Caf competitions, it will be a disaster and misuse of money and stuff," he added.

Osei Kofi played for Asante Kotoko and the Black Stars. He was a joint top scorer [3] in the 1965 Africa Cup of Nations tournament held in Tunis, leading Ghana to win the tournament for a second time.
